Our Political/Seasonality Index strategy is traded at Strategic Solutions, as well as select fund and annuity groups. We have used the Potomac Dow 30 Plus fund, with its 125% leverage to implement the strategy at Strategic Solutions, together with our Evolution Managed Equity Funds. At other fund and annuity groups, we employ the available equity fund with the highest correlation to the Dow’s performance.

The PSI averages the percentage price moves in the Dow Jones Industrial Average since 1885 during 13 different seasonal and political time periods. By correlating those periods with conditions in the year ahead, we can project what the Dow may look like if the past is prologue to the future. It is but one of the proprietary indicators used by Flexible Plan in determining buy and sell signals for its Progressive strategy. It is not relied upon in and of itself to determine investment-timing decisions in that strategy. Only the more pronounced movements in the Index are highlighted. Since the trend is more important than the extent of the Index changes, the turning points are the important dates to focus on, rather than the Index levels or values.
