Active in our neighborhood, too
We believe in supporting our outlying communities through various volunteer efforts. Many have given generously of their time and resources, including contributions to CARE House of Oakland County, St. Johns Providence Hospital and Grace Centers of Hope.
Faith Focused Investing
In an effort to support Christian-based organizations, we have designed Faith Focused Investing, which consists of mutual funds that invest according to Judeo-Christian values, avoiding gambling, alcohol and other “anti-family” screens. In addition, as part of our commitment, Flexible Plan Investments pays out 10% of its net advisory fee collected for this strategy to the church or religious institution of each client’s choice.
For A Better World
To support environmentally conscious products and companies, For a Better World was created, and draws upon a carefully selected fund universe made up of mutual funds investing in green companies, forward-thinking technological organizations, and investments with a humanitarian and ethical purpose. Additionally, as part of our commitment to the mission of For a Better World, Flexible Plan Investments pays out 10% of its net advisory fee collected for this strategy to one of several client-selected charities.
CARE House of Oakland County
Flexible Plan is a proud supporter of CARE House. CARE House provides programs and services for children and families which span a continuum of care at no cost to the children and families served. The CARE House Mission is to be a leading resource in the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and the protection of children through advocacy, education, intervention, research and treatment, in collaboration with the community.
Annual NAAIM Wagner Award
Launched in 2009, the NAAIM Wagner Award is designed to expand awareness of active investment management techniques and the results of active strategies through the solicitation and publication of research on active management. An award of $10,000 is presented annually for the best paper submitted to the competition.
“The 2007-2008 bear market, following on the heels of the 2000‐2002 decline, led many investors to question the wisdom of buy-and-hold investing,” explains Jerry Wagner, a NAAIM founding member and co‐chairman of the association’s drive to generate academic research on the viability of active management. “NAAIM members have always believed active is better,” he said. “Our competition is designed to support this position through sound research and shine the spotlight on those individuals advancing this field of study.”
Holiday Wish Program
Flexible Plan participates in the Holiday Wish Program presented by the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club. The Holiday Wish Program provides gifts for under-privileged children in Oakland County who may not otherwise get to open a gift for the holidays. In 2013, Flexible Plan sponsored 40 children.
